In wealth management, our professionals’ greatest asset is time. The more time spent understanding client goals, navigating complex financial decisions and building trusted relationships, the greater the value they can deliver.
At BMO Wealth, AI is not replacing human advice, it is amplifying advisor capacity and effectiveness. By removing friction from workflows and making expertise instantly accessible, AI enables advisors to spend more time solving complex problems, deepening relationships, and delivering differentiated advice.

Giving wealth professionals instant access to information
Today’s wealth professionals manage increasingly sophisticated client needs, spanning banking, investing, lending, estate planning and wealth transfer. Finding the right answer often requires navigating multiple systems, policies, product guides and process documents BMO is changing that through AI-powered tools such as Nexa and Rovr. Tools like Nexa and Rovr give advisors and insurance agents real-time access to policy, process, and underwriting intelligence, enabling more personalized advice at scale.
Nexa serves as an intelligent knowledge assistant for Private Wealth teams, providing instant answers to questions on products, policies, compliance, operational processes onboarding, and account administration. Instead of searching through multiple systems or waiting for support, advisors can ask questions in natural language and receive relevant, contextual answers in seconds. Nexa helps surface information quickly and consistently, reducing time spent searching and enabling advisors to remain focused on the client conversation.
Rovr is BMO Wealth’s AI-powered digital assistant for Insurance advisors, providing real-time access to policy, process, and underwriting intelligence, developed in-house. It was first-to-market in Canada and available to 100% of Insurance advisors and has supported over 10,000 advisor inquiries and contributed to record premiums and market-share gains.
Together, these tools create a smarter advisory model as one where information is available in real time, expertise is easier to access, and advisors can spend more time delivering personalized advice and strengthening client relationships.
A competitive advantage in wealth management
The impact extends well beyond individual productivity.
“Across Wealth, AI tools are delivering more than 400,000 assisted hours a year,” said Deland Kamanga, Group Head, BMO Wealth Management. “And for Nesbitt Burns advisor teams, we’re already freeing up roughly one full working day per month.”
BMO is using AI to transform many of the operational processes that support the client experience.
“In key areas, we’re targeting two-times capacity for account opening and material reductions in manual processing,” Kamanga said. “Our objective is clear: better client experiences, stronger advisor productivity, and scalable efficiency across the Wealth platform.”
This is where AI becomes a competitive differentiator. As the complexity of wealth management continues to increase, the firms that succeed will be those that enable advisors to spend less time navigating systems and more time delivering personalized advice.
At BMO Wealth, AI is helping make that future a reality by creating capacity, accelerating service, and equipping advisors with the insights and information they need to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
As Kamanga puts it: “We simplify and reengineer to recreate capacity. We then reinvest that capacity into growth, technology and better outcomes.”
